Live BMS is built and answered by one person. Email Tjones7306@yahoo.com and you'll get a real reply, usually within a day. Tell me your battery brand and model and what you're seeing — that's almost always enough to sort it.

My battery won't show up

• Bluetooth on, and the app allowed to use it (iOS Settings → Live BMS → Bluetooth).
• Stand within a few feet of the pack the first time you add it.
• Close the battery manufacturer's own app. Most BMS boards allow only one Bluetooth connection at a time, and whoever grabs it first keeps it.
• If the pack was just installed, wake it — some BMS units stop advertising when the output is off or the pack is deeply asleep.
• Still nothing? Email me the brand and the model number on the label. Adding a new BMS family is normal work, not a favour.

Numbers look wrong

• Charge/discharge sign flipped, or amps reading as the wrong direction: tell me the brand — some Daly and JK boards report the opposite convention and it's a one-line fix on my end.
• Capacity or health looks off right after adding: the app needs a full charge cycle before "holds X Ah" settles.
• A reading that's stuck shows a freshness label ("2 min ago"). If it stays stale, the pack is out of range or another app has the connection.

Banks, trips and alerts

• Banks — Settings → Battery banks. Group the packs that are physically wired together; the dashboard then shows one combined charge, draw and runtime.
• Alerts — Settings → Alert thresholds. The recommended values are already tuned for LiFePO4; each one explains what it means in plain language. For alerts to reach you with the app closed, allow notifications and leave Bluetooth on.
• Trips and launch spots — mark your ramp or parking spot once and the app logs arrivals and outings automatically.

Pro unlock

Pro is a one-time $4.99 purchase, not a subscription. Reinstalled or got a new phone? Settings → Restore purchases, using the same Apple ID. If a restore won't take, email me — I can help before you pay twice.

Apple Watch

The watch app installs from the iPhone Watch app (My Watch → Available Apps). It mirrors what the phone is reading, so the phone needs to be in Bluetooth range of the batteries. Remote monitoring without the phone nearby is what the upcoming Live BMS Link is for.

Genuinely wanted. Most of what's in the app came from someone emailing about their setup. Send the brand, a photo of the label, and what you wish it did.
